To prevent the spread of COVID-19, CNU held an online job fair to prepare local youths for overseas jobs.

On March 3rd, CNU University Job Center (Director: Lee Jae-yeol) held a real-time online job fair on a YouTube channel for local youth.

On the day, the real-time access recorded 76 hits while previous off-line sessions were attended by 30 - 70 participants on average. Moreover, the number of visitors to the saved videos continues to accumulate over time, which is gaining unexpectedly high public attention.

This job fair was popular since it was about 'SW DO Master', a job linking process for global IT companies such as ones in Japan, and it is said that 97% of 2,600 students were successful in overseas employment when the program was operating in Seoul.

The goal of this program is to train undergraduate graduates (or those who are expected to graduate soon) regardless of major, for a 2,000-hour course for 10 months of basic programming encompassing web-page development, team projects, and portfolio creation. It is followed by ICT education such as data science, machine learning, and big data programs for fundamental education in artificial intelligence. Then tailored courses for business Japanese education and job interview strategies are offered.

The Tokyo Job Fair is also held exclusively for participating trainees to provide a wide range of corporate choices. For instance, 96% of the 1st and 2nd training participants now have jobs with an annual salary of 30 – 40 million KRW, including positions at IBM Japan Group, Pasonatech, and Keyport Solutions.

Meanwhile, the video of the job fair will be continuously kept online so that anyone interested in overseas employment can watch it.
