With the prolongation of online classes due to COVID-19, CNU has laid the groundwork for regular classes with online educational contents and supporting programs available online with expanded infrastructure of computing facilities, which guarantees the transformation of online courses into the new normal after the COVID-19 pandemic subsides.

According to the CNU Institute of Liberal Education (Director: Professor Cha Sung-hyun), it has conducted various online programs such as ▲ “Eemuotgo-Kyohaksangjan”, a cooperative learning program of professors and undergraduate students ▲ “Hakseupkkumteo” and “Yeolkong”, which connect undergraduate students with shared interests. These community-learning programs used to be held in offline meetings only. However, due to the current circumstances, the Institute has now prepared an online format for them using various platforms for telecommunication such as Kakao Talk, Micro Soft Teams, Skype, Google Hang-outs, Google Meets, and Zoom.

In addition, “Learning Coaching”, which provides suggestions and advice on voluntary self-training programs for active learning with appropriate learning methods, is also available online, allowing students to test and analyze their own learning, interpret the results, and receive advice on learning the strategy that suits them.

Furthermore, the Institute started a new program entitled “Knowledge Share”, where students with difficulties solving problems in subjects such as mathematics, physics, and chemistry can ask questions to online tutors, who are juniors or seniors of those specific majors. The tutors receive advice and feedback from graduate students and lecturers, and then provide answers on the bulletin boards.

CNU also added four web servers and two video servers for stable online classes, after introducing the CDN (Contents Delivery Network) service facility, and expanded storage space to 20 TB in line with the increase in video utilization for class activities.

In addition, the Institute plans to build an HCI-based cloud system that integrates servers and storage and expands the 10Gbps network.

Director Cha stated, "The online learning contents have advantages in their accessibility for students, since they are available anytime, anywhere, and even to those who are not taking the course. We will continue to operate these programs in the future."
