CNU and the Baek-am Office of Naejangsan National Park have signed an agreement to cooperate to improve ecological welfare in national parks and to protect natural resources.

The CNU Agro-Bioindustry Technical Support Center (Director Professor Han Tae-ho, Department of Horticulture Science) and CNU Dormitory (Director: Yoon Wang-jung, Department of Energy and Resources Engineering) completed a business agreement with the Baek-am Office of Naejangsan National Park (Director: Seo In-gyo at the Baek-am Office on March 21. According to the agreement, they will cooperate to develop and provide national park tour services for visitors. These institutions also will cooperate for educational programs, faculty research, and field trips programs in the CNU Academic Forests. Furthermore, they will collaborate on reducing mountain accidents, prevention and safety measures for disasters like mountain fires and establish a cooperative system for natural resource conservation in the Namchang valley and the surrounding area.

Since CNU’s Jangseong University Forest (916 hectares) is located in the Naejang National Forest Park, it is necessary for both agencies to work together to improve the ecological environment for nature resources and ecological tourist services for visitors. The Park administration office also needs professional help from university to protect forest resources and tourist resources in order to increase the satisfaction level of visitors.

Prior to this cooperation plan, these agencies have already worked together since last year, with mutual exchange programs and forest commentary services to the national park visitors.
