CNU started a soundscape project to collect the sounds of nature on campus, such as the sounds of water, wind, birds, and animals, which exist on its campuses.

According to CNU, the CNU Press and Broadcasting Center (Prof. Noh Shi-hun, Graduate School of Culture) started to cover the soundscape of CNU by publishing serial articles, with the first article, ‘The Soundscape of Birds living on CNU Campus’, which was published on March 18. Dr. Han Myung-ho, who has studied soundscapes for 20 years, will join the research and broadcast. The ‘Soundscape Map produced’ by Lee Joo-hyun (Ph.D. candidate of Life Science and Biotechnology major) after one year of observation and research in her junior year will also be released to the public.

In the future, the soundscape of CNU will be classified into two main categories, such as the sounds of nature, such as the sounds of plants, animals, water, and wind; and the sounds of cultural activities such as sounds of various events and ceremonies collected on the Yongbong and Yeosu campuses.

Especially, the sound covered in the news contents will be provided online, of which access will be available through the QR code or from the homepage of the CNU Press and Broadcasting Center. In addition, the university plans to encourage participation by CNU members with a campaign entitled 'Finding a Great Soundscape Spot in CNU.'
