CNU was recognized for its excellence in engineering education.

According to the results of the ‘2019 Engineering Education Accreditation’ announced by the Accreditation Board for Engineering Education of Korea (ABEEK), seven departments of the CNU College of Engineering (Dean: Professor Go Seong-seok) have obtained three-year certificates for engineering education (from March 2020 to February 2023). The seven departments are as follows: the School of Architecture, the School of Polymer Science and Engineering, the School of Material Science and Engineering, the Department of Energy and Resources Engineering, the Department of Electrical Engineering, the School of Chemical Engineering, and the Department of Environmental and Energy Engineering.

In addition, the School of Mechanical Engineering received a 6-year certificate, which is valid until March 2026. It is the longest period for ABEEK certificates, which has only been given to 5 departments, which is only 0.8% of the total number of recipients since the ABEEK started evaluating nationwide engineering departments in 2008.

The 'Engineering Education Accreditation' is an evaluation system to promote the development of engineering education and foster competent engineering manpower. It is governed by the Accreditation Board for Engineering Education of Korea, which provides evaluation and certification of engineering education with standards and guidelines for educational programs at universities.
