CNU’s Global Education Center (Director: Kim Sang-gu) held a farewell party for the international students who successfully completed the intensive Korean classes on December 20, 2019. The party was designed to promote the excellent programs of CNU to their home countries as well as let Gwangju communities know their endeavor to complete the program and continue their studies.

More than one hundred people attended the party including more than 60 international students, faculty members, and representatives of the Yeosu Foreign Residents Support Center.

Held at the Humanities and Social Sciences Building of the CNU Yeosu Campus, the party provided various events such as a Korean speaking contest and a talent show for international students.
 
Ibrokhim Ismoiljon, an international student from Uzbekistan, said, “I would like to express my gratitude to all the teachers who have worked hard for the international students and helped them to adapt to the campus for a year, which was initially a completely unfamiliar environment. This party was a great opportunity for international students to have unforgettable memories before coming to the Gwangju Campus after completing the Korean Language Course at the Yeosu Campus.”
 
Director Kim said, “In this year-ending event, we could witness the fruitful results of international students who developed through our programs and could also provide further motivation for them to continue their studies of Korea and its language.”
