CellMEAT, a tenant company of the CNU start-up platform, attracted investment from several firms including an American venture capital business.

According to CellMEAT, it has secured investment for its new business from Primer (CEO Kwon Do-kyun), a representative startup accelerator in Korea, and two firms based in the USA, Strong Ventures, venture capital seed fund, and Primer Sazze Partners.

CellMEAT develops stem cell-based manufacturing technology for cultured meat and its R&D center is located in the laboratory of Professor Lee Kyung-bon (Department of Biology Education).

Founded in March 2019, CellMEAT has engaged in cultured meat technology and selected for the Tech Incubator Program for startups in Korea (TIPS) project of the Ministry of SMEs and Startups in December 2019. With the investment, it will conduct research to proactively occupy the cultured meat market and compete with global leaders in the field.
