CNU announced a continued tuition freeze for this year.

The CNU Tuition Fee Committee (Chair Person: Professor Cho Sung-June) held a meeting on January 13 and announced that there will be no tuition fee increases for undergraduate students in 2020.

Accordingly, CNU's tuition fees for the first undergraduate semester are expected to range from a minimum of 1.68 million KRW for majors including business, humanities and social sciences to a maximum of 3.12 million KRW for majors including dental and medical sciences.

CNU has frozen or lowered tuition fees for 12 years consecutive years since 2009, freezing for the first three years from 2009 to 2012, and then continuously reducing tuition fees for the next three years from 2012 to 2014. Since then, tuition fees has not been increased for six years since 2015. Even more, the admission fee for new undergraduate and graduate students has been abolished since 2018.

Chair Person Cho said, “As we continue to freeze or lower tuition fees, there are some difficulties in operating the university. However, we believe that CNU should alleviate financial burden of students and their parents. Despite this reduction and bucking the trend of price hikes in fees, we will continue to carry out our responsibilities as a national flagship university by maximizing university operational efficiency, improving the educational environment through funding and financial support projects run by local government and activities for mutually beneficial cooperation with local communities.”
