CNU Initiated Educational Policy Council in Conjunction with the Korea Coast Guard

CNU and seven other universities, which have departments of maritime police, signed a business agreement with the Korea Coast Guard to launch the Maritime Education Policy Council.

According to CNU, eight universities, including CNU, signed a business agreement with the Korea Coast Guard on January 14 and agreed to hold the council every year and construct a cooperative system to foster smart marine talents. In addition, a working council was formed with the education officer of the Korea Coast Guard and the head of the maritime police department of each university to discuss details such as the development of educational policy and cooperative programs.

Through the Maritime Educational Policy Council, the Korea Coast Guard will be able to share opinions with universities on ways to establish the foundation of 'marine police science', activate the Society of Maritime Police, improve the talent development system for the Maritime Safety Security Institute, and innovate further regarding the maritime police recruitment system. The Korea Coast Guard also promised to support universities with maritime majors to discover and develop new growth engines for maritime related fields.

Each university has also decided to actively cooperate in fostering smart marine talent.

Participating universities include ▲CNU ▲ Kangwon Provincial University ▲ Gyeongsang National University ▲ Gunsan University ▲ Mokpo Maritime University ▲ Pukyong National University ▲ Jeju University ▲Korea Maritime University.
