s cultural capacities The Center of History and Culture, Dept of History, CNU (Director: Prof. Kim Dong-su) and the Graduate School
s History and Culture Resource Human Power Agency (Director: Prof. Kim Dong-su) composed of the members from the Dept. of History and the Dept. of Anthropology were selected in August to conduct three major projects for history and cultural contents development. It is very rare to acquire three research projects in this short period by one research team centered by the departments in the area of human and literature science. The Dept. of History and the Dept. of Anthropology are expected to lead the planning and developing projects of Korean History and Culture Contents. The research subjects that they should undertake: △ Story bank on the mistery of thousand towers and thousand Buddhas & Lying Buddha which could not stand up in Un-ju Buddhist Temple (Main Researcher: Prof. King Dong-su, Dept. of history) △ Excavation and Reservation Project of Asian Culture Prototypes in Gwangu - Excavation of Cultural Contexts on

in the Agricultural Age in Korea and Asia and its DB Building (Main Researcher: Prof. King Dong-su, dept of history) △ Basic Plan for Establishing Master plan to Build the Culture and History town in Hyodong, Yong-gwang, Jeonnam (Main Researcher: Prof. Hong Seong-up, Dept. of Anthropology) The Story Bank Production Project on Un-ju Temple was selected as an auxiliary project to develop the regional culture contents by the Institute of Gwangju Information and Culture Promotion in 2005. They were selected again after the previous year

Basic Plan for Establishing Master Plan to Build the Culture and History town in Hyo-dong, Yong-gwang, Jeonnam
was assisted by the Ministry of Culture and Sightseeing and the Association of National Culture Centers and they will develop basic programme necessary to build cultural village. These culture and history planning projects will also contribute to raise the students of dept of history and dept of anthropology necessary to develop the history and culture resources. Prof. Kimg Dong-su in the Dept. of History, said “Last one month, we acquire 3 projects and this is very rare in this region and even in the Nation. All of three projects got appreciation of their high quality of planning and creativity.” and he added, “With these opportunity of research projects, CNU can obtain the best level of competition in the area of history and culture contents planning and development in Korea and enhance the capacity of Gwangju, culture-centered city.\"
