The CNU Core Facility for Energy Convergence Research (Principal Research Fellow: Professor Ha Jun-seok, School of Chemical Engineering) has been selected for the ‘Support Program for the Advancement of National Research Facilities and Equipment’ by the Ministry of Education.

The ‘Support Program for the Advancement of National Research Facilities and Equipment,’ which started its operation from this year, aims to foster core technology support centers by creating a research ecosystem that shares research equipment that are non-operating or in an idle status by categorizing the equipment and thereby managing them to allow usage and therefore enhance the capacity by specialized work forces for efficient use.

The CNU Core Facility for Energy Convergence Research has been selected after four stages of screening.

After a pilot project in 2018, the CNU Core Facility for Energy Convergence Research in its full operation will receive 38.5 billion KRW over six years. It was also selected for the Co-research Support project, which is expected to bring about a synergy effect with the research equipment sharing to foster research capacity.

The CNU Core Facility for Energy Convergence Research was established to foster research centers in the fields of new & renewable energy and energy convergence by reducing initial costs through sharing research facilities and equipment, and meet the demand for the research accomplishments. It will conduct the basic research on research equipment demand via surveys and advise research facilities to purchase research equipment only that is not available in the shared inventory. It is expected to create a favorable environment for research centers and efficiently build the fundamental & professional support system to foster creative leading research for source proprietary technology.
