CNU’s Volunteering to Celebrate Chuseok

Senior members of CNU visited social welfare facilities in Gwangju and Yeosu to celebrate the upcoming Chuseok holidays and share the warmth with local communities.

Vice President Han Eun-mi visited the Gwangju Temporary Shelter for Infants (located in Sotae-dong, Dong-gu) on September 3 to take care of the kids and give Chuseok presents while also lauding volunteers and workers.

Park Ju-yong, the director of the Administrative Affairs Office, as well as other high-ranking directors from the university’s headquarters also visited social welfare organizations in Gwangju to give donations and to provide comfort. Those facilities are as follows: 'Our neighbors' (located in Ochi-dong, Buk-gu, Gwangju), where people with disabilities live and work together, ‘Purundle’ (located in Ji-dong, Buk-gu, Gwangju), the facility for those with severe disabilities, 'Sohwachunsa's House' (located in Bongseon-dong, Nam-gu, Gwangju), a facility for people with disabilities, and ‘In-yae Welfare Center’ (located in Bongseon-dong, Nam-gu, Gwangju), care facility for single mothers.

On September 10, senior staff including Vice President Lee Woo-bum and other faculty members of the CNU Yeosu Campus also paid a visit to ‘Jindalrae Village’ (located in Sora-myeon, Yeosu), ‘Happy House’ (located in Yeocheon-dong), ‘Yeosu Welfare Center for People with Disabilities’’ (located on Cheonho-ro, Yeosu City), and Mipyeong Social Welfare Center (located on  Mipyeong-ro). They donated to those facilities and visited Training Centers in Bangjukpo and Sado to encourage the workers and the officials.

Vice President Han Eun-mi said, “We wanted to convey the continued support and devotion, minor and major, of the university members to our neighbors who are in reduced circumstances at this Chuseok holiday season. Even though it is a difficult and hard time, I hope they remain strong and courageous to have hope for the good days”.
