CNU Ranked 3rd among National Flagship Universities and 15th in Korea in the “Nature Index”

CNU was ranked 3rd among national flagship universities and 15th among all domestic universities in the ranking of academic institutions provided by the world-renowned journal Nature.

According to CNU, it received excellent results in the 2020 Nature Index of Academic Institution Rankings, which was established by the journal Nature to figure out the research capacities of universities and research institutes around the world at a glance. In addition, CNU ranks 17th among all universities, governmental research institutes, and corporate research institutes throughout the nation.

The domestic rankings of CNU have risen two levels from last year, and the present score is about 6.9% higher than last year.

In the assessment results for CNU, the 'Chemistry' field ranked first among national flagship universities and 13th among domestic universities in Korea, and in the earth and environmental sciences field, it ranked second among national flagship universities and 8th among domestic universities. In addition, in the field of physics, CNU was ranked 4th among national flagship universities and 17th among domestic universities while in the life sciences field, it ranked 6th among national flagship universities and 26th among domestic universities.

President Jeong said, “The combination of research capabilities that have been steadily accumulated at CNU as a research university and the researcher-centered support system has accomplished this achievement. We will continue our efforts to provide all possible support to help our university researchers immerse themselves in research that contributes to the world.”
