CNU held its 2019 Entrance Ceremony at 2 pm, February 28 (Thursday) in the CNU Minjumaru Hall (for Yongbong and Yeosu campuses).

CNU welcomed approximately 6,000 new undergraduate (freshmen and transfer students) and graduate students (including first-year students for MA and PhD degrees). CNU awarded the President’s Award to Jin So-yeun and Park Si-hyun (Department of Nursing) and 136 other students with excellent records in admissions’ procedures.

President Jeong stated to the parents and guests, "We presume that the world will be drastically changed when today’s freshmen are about to graduate. CNU will prepare them for the changes with education to encourage students to be creative, sympathetic, cooperative, and full of light for the world.”

He also said in the congratulatory speech to freshmen, “Bearing a glorious history and tradition, CNU has maintained its pride in nurturing students into leaders of prosperous future societies. You can achieve your hopes and dreams here on the CNU Campus. With imagination based on humanities studies, and creativity based on engineering and the natural sciences, you will fulfill your university years with challenges and meaningful coexistence with those around you.”

To faculty and staff, he added, “We are welcoming excellent students as our new members. Please embrace and lead them with warm hearts.”
 
Park Seung-hyun, the newly inaugurated Chairman of the CNU Alumni Association, also gave a congratulatory speech, “I hope the university period would be the time you realize your dreams and talent, prepare for the future, and expand the perspectives of your minds. Rather than the results, doing one’s best is what matters in the end.”
