A scholarship founded by a senior citizen who works as a street vendor encouraged CNU students.

According to CNU, it held a scholarship award ceremony of the ‘2019 'Kim Jeong-soon Scholarship’ in the Presidential Reception Room on March 11 and Kim Jeong-soon gave the scholarship and certificate to students.

While awarding the scholarship, Kim gave a warm hug to each recipient and said, "I want you to be healthy and to listen to your parents well," and "I hope you study hard and become a great person with a warm heart."

Students said, “We heard that Kim saved the money for the scholarship fund from her hard earned efforts and really appreciate it. We will do our best to study and be the people Kim hope us to be and contribute to society.”

The 'Kim Jeong-soon Scholarship' was created by Kim when she donated 100 million KRW to CNU in November 2018, which she earned from growing and selling vegetables on a street market.
