An SNS message of a photo expressing gratitude toward CNU’s support regarding COVID-19, which was posted by a Chinese international student who studies at CNU, is attracting attention.
On March 3rd, an article was posted on ICNKR, an application for Chinese international students from all over the country, by a user named 'Mr. Steve. He began the message with photos of CNU’s support with a greeting of “Thanks to Universities in Gwangju and Jeonnam, Korea. Thank you for everything from CNU for daily necessities, meals for three times a day, and pickup service from Incheon International Airport.”
The author “Mr. Steve” is known to be a student, Wang Won-Long, who is currently attending the Department of Art as a junior at CNU.
Wang Won-Long said, “Every day, the space was constantly cleaned and disinfected, and CNU’s instructors worked very hard.” He added, “As the 14 days of self-quarantine ends, I’d like to say a big thank you to CNU. ”He also revealed the joy of getting away safely from COVID-19.
During the quarantine period, he uploaded electronic thermometers, measurement tables, masks, countermeasure manuals, and simple daily necessities carefully provided by CNU, as well as photographs of supplied lunch boxes.
Wang Won-Long clarified that he referred to the original writings of Hanwinsiu (韩允秀) and other Chinese students agreed with his aims.
In fact, even at the beginning of February, which was during the early stages of COVID-19 in Korea, the Chinese Student Association and the Chinese Doctorate Students Association sent a letter to the university administrative office, saying, “Thank you CNU for your attention and affection.”
Han Eun-mi, the vice President of CNU and its Emergency Response Committee (Vice-President Professor Han Eun-mi) said, “It was not only the daily supplies they received, it is likely that they were touched by the efforts of the staff and officers of CNU, which are conducted on a daily basis for those who study abroad and even self-quarantine.”
