In order to prevent the spread of COVID-19, CNU began the spring semester with online classes for the first two weeks from March 16th. [*at time of publication; extensions possible due to the severity of the pandemic as mentioned below]

According to CNU, it held an emergency faculty meeting on March 5th and decided to cancel all off-line, face-to-face classes and begin the semester by offering online classes from March 16th to March 27th to prevent the spread of COVID-19. Also, the extension of the home schooling/e-classes period can be considered in accordance of circumstances.

To make up for the shortened working day, CNU encourages its members to utilize the E-class system to ▲ distribute class assignments ▲ offer on-line remote classes ▲ encourage students to take K-MOOC or KNOU courses ▲ supplement classes

Also, for remote classes, various programs such as EverLec have been distributed, and real-time video lectures through MS Office365 teams have been actively supported.

The lab curricula, which are difficult to run due to the circumstances, have been postponed to May for make-up classes in the morning/evening before/after regular classes start/end, or during holidays and weekends before the semester ends.

Professor Park Bok-jae, the Director of Academic Affairs, said, “The E-class system server can process the simultaneous access of 2,000 faculty members and 25,000 students for remote classes. However, as it is an unprecedented situation, we are doing our best to guarantee the quality of online classes environments by providing English manuals for international students and reassuring the access capacity and overall condition.”
