Department of Education

The Department of Education at the Chonnam National University purports to train secondary school teachers and professionals in educational research or educational policy-making and administration. Currently, the Department of Education offers a variety of undergraduate courses in educational philosophy, educational history, educational psychology, educational sociology, lifelong education, curriculum and instruction, educational evaluation, educational administration, educational technology, counseling psychology, and school psychology

Careers

Undergraduate students who complete all the requirements at the Department of Education earn teaching certificates, and those who complete the requirements for lifelong educators also earn lifelong education certificates. Most undergraduate students at the Department of Education minor in or double-major in other education areas; therefore, they also can earn a teaching certificate in the respective double-major area.

Many graduates from the Department of Education are employed as secondary teachers, college professors, educational administrators, or researchers at educational research institutes, personnel development centers, community counseling centers, or companies for development of educational software. Some pursue graduate studies for Master’s or Doctoral degrees.
