The research team of CNU Professor Kim Won-jae (Professional Graduate School of Dentistry) was selected for the Basic Research Laboratory (BRL) project supported by the Ministry of Science and ICT and received a research grant of 1.35 billion KRW for the next three years.
Professor Kim, together with other CNU professors, Lim Hyeon-pil and Lee Bin-na, developed a treatment method for the representative intractable inflammatory diseases of the craniofacial area, such as Alzheimer's disease (dementia), pulp and apical inflammatory diseases, and inflammatory diseases around implants using mesenchymal stem cell secretion. The research team will establish a theoretical foundation to apply it to clinical practice.
The BRL project is supervised by the Ministry of Science and ICT and the National Research Foundation of Korea to systematically foster small-scale research groups by supporting various types of research that deepen existing research.
