Chonnam National University (CNU) participated in CES 2025, the world’s largest consumer electronics show, held in Las Vegas from January 7 to 10, with its own “CNU Pavilion.”
The pavilion featured innovations from five family companies supported by the LINC 3.0 Project Group and seven companies from the Gwangju-Jeonnam Regional Innovation Platform. These companies showcased advanced technologies and products, earning attention on the global stage.
CNU also provided opportunities for 20 students to attend CES through the Global PBL Program, enabling them to explore cutting-edge trends and develop global skills. Additionally, the Acceleration Program supported five family companies in successfully exhibiting at CES.
One standout participant, EcoPeace Co., Ltd., won the CES 2025 Innovation Award in the Smart City category for its “Healing Boat,” an autonomous robot that cleans polluted water while offering leisure activities, combining environmental protection with recreation.
Byung-In Kim, CNU Vice President for Academic Affairs, praised the experience, stating, “CES will enhance CNU’s global competitiveness. We hope our companies continue innovating, and our students grow into global leaders.”
CNU emphasized that its CES participation, involving collaboration among the university, industries, students, and local governments, is a vital step toward regional innovation and global industrial growth.
