CNU's Office of External and Global Engagement (director: Professor Kook Min-suk) announced that it was selected as one of the participating universities for two consecutive years for the 2025 Korea-Japan Joint Higher Education Short-Term Exchange Program.

This program is part of the Global Korea Scholarship (GKS) funded by the National Institute for International Education (NIIED). It aims to promote friendship and cultivate talent between Korea and Japan. Through this program, Japanese university students will learn the Korean language and culture at Korean universities, and have the opportunity to experience professional fields related to their majors. Nine universities, including CNU, were selected to run the program in 2025.

CNU successfully conducted the program in 2024. In cooperation with the AI Convergence College, the university ran a short-term AI and engineering-focused education program for 22 Japanese students. The program included customized hands-on training, institutional visits, and Korean language courses, all supported by a government subsidy of 110 million KRW. This well-organized program, combining theory, practical experience, and cultural exploration, has received high praise for strengthening ties between higher education institutions in Korea and Japan.

CNU has established a robust global network by forming exchange agreements with 656 higher education institutions in 65 countries. Based on this, CNU is positioning itself as a “Glocal Talent Cultivation University” committed to creating a sustainable world with local communities.
