CNU was selected for the Smart Farm Multi-Ministry Package Innovation Technology Development Project jointly managed by three ministries including the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs.

The research team of CNU Professor Na Myung-hwan (Department of Statistics) was selected for the Development of a model for predicting growth of livestock (cattle, cows, pigs) among innovative technology development projects organized by the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs, the Ministry of Science and Technology Information and Communication, and the Rural Development Administration.

Accordingly, the research team will receive 1.5 billion KRW in support over the next 4 years and conduct research linking biometric information and feeding information to advance the growth and production of the precision prediction algorithm and develop a practical model to improve the productivity of livestock. The Rural Development Administration, Jeollanam-do Agricultural Technology Institute, and Samsung FA are participating in the research team.

Professor Na's team has been studying ways to predict the weight of pigs and cattle using image processing methods and statistical models.
