CNU has decided to secure 62.6 billion KRW from next year's national budget, of which more than half, or 35.6 billion KRW, will be invested in the Yeosu Campus. It is the first time that such a large-scale investment is to be made in the history of the Yeosu Campus since the university was integrated.

According to CNU, it decided to secure 62.6 billion KRW in the government budget as the 2022 government budget bill passed the National Assembly on December 3, 2021, and first-round investment for the Yeosu Campus will be made with 26 billion KRW to build a state-of-the-art BTL Dormitory with a capacity of 500 people.

This is expected to greatly alleviate the inconvenience of aging facilities, commuting to learning spaces, and living in an apartment-style communal life.

CNU also secured a budget of 9.6 billion won for the construction of the Student Success Hall, which will manage and support the entire life cycle of university life from admission to employment of Yeosu Campus students, and will begin its detailed design phase next year.

The Student Success Hall, which will be completed in 2024, will contain facilities and spaces to support students’ overall college life, such as a student support program room, a general information center, a maker’s space for start-up education and creation, a healing lounge, and a career and psychological counseling room.

CNU plans to expand and renovate the College of Humanities Building 2 and remodel the University of Natural Sciences Building 2 with the remaining state budget.

President Jung said, “We are grateful that we could secure a large-scale facility investment for the Yeosu Campus with the help of the government, the National Assembly, and local residents. CNU will continue to make efforts to improve the educational competence of the Yeosu Campus and cooperate with locals for this purpose.
