A CNU undergraduate student has published a paper as the first author in an SCI(E)-level international journal.
Jeong So-hee (a senior in the Department of Veterinary Medicine; advisor professor: Professor Kim Joong-seon), published a paper in the October issue of Molecular & Cellular Toxicology discussing how certain drugs used in clinical oncology may interfere with radiotherapy.
In her research, Jeong found that the cancer drug Olaparib, known for its efficacy against various cancers, including ovarian cancer, could worsen gastrointestinal complications during radiotherapy. Since radiation therapy is also a treatment method accompanying cancer treatment, it has been reported that caution is needed when using Olaparib in combination with radiation therapy, as it can cause serious digestive problems.
