The Center for History and Culture (director: Professor Seol Pae-hwan), has been selected for the 2024 Institute Programs in the Humanities & Social Sciences by the National Research Foundation of Korea. Over the next six years, the center will receive approximately 2 billion KRW in research funding to carry out a project titled "The Five Senses and Food: A Feast for the Mouth, Eyes, Nose, Ears, and Hands."

This research will explore the historical and sensory aspects of food culture worldwide, from the 10th to the 20th century.

The center previously received support through the university’s Research Planning Support (RPM) program in 2021 and 2023 and has now achieved this recognition from the research foundation after being selected for preliminary research support in 2024.
