7th ECOGAS 2004 Ended Successfully- The team \"Fusion\" from Incheon Polytechnic College Won the Championship

The 7th ECOGAS 2004, the National Competition of Low Fuel Consumption Automobiles, was held around the Engineering buildings on Oct. 9 - 10.The competition, hosted by CNU and sponsored by BK21 Local University Cultivating Project Team and the Faculty of Automobile Engineering, is a nationwide event. This Competition tests which automobile will go furthest with a provided amount of fuel and encourages students to produce automobiles using low-fuel-consumption technology in order to cope with future energy limitations. Twenty-eight teams participated in the contest, focusing on which car would save the most fuel after driving 10 kilometers with only 200cc gasoline. At the competition division of 'the Assigned Engine', the team 'Fusion' from Incheon Polytechnic College won the championship with the record of 484.7km/l. CNU's team 'AUTO' won the victory of the 'Assigned Engine II' with the record of 287.3km/l.
On Oct. 9, the participants completed the entry registrations and automobile inspections. A special seminar regarding to low fuel consumption technology was held at IA-303 of Automobile Technology Bldg. For the seminar, a record-holder Hisanori Nakane visited CNU and delivered a lecture. He is the representative of Fancy Carol Co., which set up a new record (3,962km/l) at Ecomarathon Contest, held in Hiroshima, Japan. On the next day, the main racing event was held. In addition to the main event, the Faculty of Automobile Engineering opened laboratories with various experimental machines and equipments.
