CNU Alumnus as the New President of the Korean Medical Association

A CNU alumnus was elected president of the Korean Medical Association.

Lee Pil-soo (59), a graduate of the CNU College of Medicine and the vice president of the Medical Association, was elected president with 52.54% of 23,658 total votes and 12,311 votes in the final round of the 41st election of the Korean Medical Association held at the association’s temporary office in Yongsan on March 26. He will serve three years until April 30, 2024.

Lee is a specialist in Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery who has served as president of the Medical Association of Naju and the Medical Association of Jeonnam. In addition, he served as vice-chairman of the Pan-Medical Emergency Committee in 2016 and chairman of the National Health Protection Emergency Committee of the Medical Association in 2017.

Lee said, “We will do our best to ensure the rights and interests of the members of the association in this most difficult situation due to COVID-19 by collecting various opinions of members and continuously trying hard to achieve the association’s goals.”
