CNU held its entrance ceremony for the 2021 academic year online.
Due to COVID-19, the actual ceremony was replaced by entrance ceremony videos posted on the university’s official website and YouTube channel.
The online entrance ceremony consisted of the appearance of new students on campus, a declaration of admission, the president's address, and a congratulatory speech by the president of the CNU Alumni, which were followed by self-made videos of newly admitted students.
CNU welcomed 6,040 new students, including 4,650 undergraduate students and 1,390 graduate students (1,100 for MA and 290 for doctoral programs).
President Jung Sung-taek said, "CNU is a hall of academics and intelligence that has led historical advances and awakened the public, a future-oriented university, a research-centered university, and a global university. It is your willingness to take the chance to fulfill your dream.” Jung added, "We want you to discover a new you with a creative and challenging spirit, a humanistic approach and artistic sensibility, and a sense of community to live with neighbors."
CNU is running the first semester of 2021 with remote classes, a limited number of face-to-face classes, and blended online / offline classes.
