CNU Professor Park Sang-wook (Professional Graduate School of Dentistry) was selected for the 2021 Regenerative Medicine Development Project.

This cross-ministerial regenerative medical technology development project is governed by the Ministry of Science and ICT and the Ministry of Health and Welfare, aiming to secure core regenerative medicine technology, regenerative medicine treatment, and treatment technology through clinical linkage.

Professor Park will receive a fund of about 1.2 billion KRW over the next three years to develop a multi-cell-based 3D human osteoporosis replica by fusion of CRISPR/Cas9 gene-editing technology, human pluripotent stem cell differentiation technology, and 3D printing technology. He also aims to complete a non-clinical study on a novel osteoporosis treatment by evaluating the efficacy and toxicity of TRAF6 inhibitors that inhibit osteoclast differentiation and activation using the aforementioned technology.
