It was evaluated that the Center for Distance Education Support in Gwangju and South Jeolla Province, which is operated by CNU, is carrying out its tasks excellently.

According to the Center for Distance Education Support in Gwangju and South Jeolla Province (Director: Professor Cha Seong-hyeon), which is operated by CNU in a consortium with Donggang University, CNU was ranked as ‘very good' in the evaluation of the Korea Education and Research Information Service (KERIS). The assessment was conducted for 10 regional centers across the country, and CNU was selected to receive the largest amount of government subsidies this year.

The Korea Education and Research Information Service positively evaluated the Center for Distance Education Support in Gwangju and South Jeolla Province as “It understands the purpose of this project very well and supported participating universities very actively by developing required content.”

In the Gwangju and South Jeolla region, 25 out of 36 total universities are participating as members of the Gwangju-Jeonnam Regional Council for Distance Education.

This evaluation was conducted through written and video evaluation of the results of the first year project in five areas: ▲ project overview, ▲ the establishment of infrastructure for common use, ▲ the development of contents for shared use, and ▲ the support for innovation in distance education and management of budget execution.

The project to install and operate distance education support centers by region is supervised by the Ministry of Education and the Korea Education and Research Information Service and will be operated for five years from 2020 to 2024.
