[International Symposium on Aging]

The 16th International Symposium on Aging was successfully held after a year of preparation by the organizing committee led by Professor Park Sang-chul as chairman and Professor Yoon Kyung-chul as the organizing chair, under the auspices of Chonnam National University's College of Medicine's Geriatric Medicine Center and the Aging Science Research Institute. Supported by Hwasun County, Hwasun Chonnam National University Hospital, and the Biomedical Research Institute of Chonnam National University Hospital, the event took place at the Hwasun Campus of Chonnam National University's College of Medicine. The symposium was attended by about 200 experts in aging from both domestic and international spheres, university representatives, academic societies, and health and welfare officials, both in-person and online. Congressman Shin Jeong-hoon and Hwasun County Mayor Gu Bok-gyu pledged their support for the policy and institutional implementation of the research outcomes and the continuous sponsorship of the aging symposium to contribute significantly to senior welfare policies. Discussions at the symposium sessions focused on 'dignified aging,' health monitoring, new technologies, and collaborative challenges, with participants exchanging views on the necessity and strategies for policy development to enhance aging with dignity. This event is an important academic venue that promotes the development of the field through comprehensive research and discussion on aging.
