★ Chonnam National University Lifelong Education Center

The Chonnam National University Lifelong Education Center recognizes the importance of lifelong education and offers a variety of programs to help local residents achieve continuous learning and personal development. Lifelong education encompasses the characteristics of life, ongoing learning, integration, and education. It aims to ensure the right to education through freedom of educational choice and aspires to create a learning society where education occurs in all places and institutions throughout one's life.

As a regional hub university, the Chonnam National University Lifelong Education Center contributes to ensuring the educational choices and learning rights of local residents, enabling them to lead healthy and happy lives. To achieve this, the center operates over 100 diverse programs annually, including the CNU Artificial Intelligence (AI) Academy, Humanities Academy, Credit Bank system, and various certification courses across different fields.

The establishment purpose of the Chonnam National University Lifelong Education Center is outlined in Article 2 of its regulations. This center aims to provide open education and lifelong learning opportunities to the residents of the community through university education, thereby contributing to the improvement of quality of life and the development of society.

In particular, the Lifelong Education Center provides direct educational services to local residents through short-term executive education programs and vocational training. These programs are open to the general public and offer educational opportunities suitable for anyone seeking to acquire practical skills and knowledge. Credit Bank System Courses

The Credit Bank system operates under the framework of the "Law on the Recognition of Credits," providing a mechanism for various forms of learning and qualifications, both within formal educational institutions and outside of them, to be recognized as academic credits. This innovative approach allows individuals to accumulate credits through diverse learning experiences, including workshops, training programs, and informal education.

Once the accumulated credits meet specific criteria set by the system, participants can use them toward degree acquisition, thereby fostering the realization of an open learning society and promoting the concept of lifelong learning. The Credit Bank system is designed to be an institutional foundation for lifelong learning, ensuring that the outcomes of various educational activities are evaluated fairly and recognized appropriately.

By facilitating mutual recognition between formal school education and lifelong education, the Credit Bank system enables a seamless connection between different learning pathways. This organic linkage not only supports individuals in their educational pursuits but also maximizes their learning capabilities. It empowers learners to take control of their educational journeys, encouraging them to explore a wide range of opportunities that align with their personal and professional goals.

Through this system, Chonnam National University aims to enhance access to education, promote inclusivity, and foster a culture of continuous learning that benefits both individuals and the community at large.(Refer to attachment 4.3.2_2)

Job Matching and Employment Festival

Chonnam National University hosted the "2023 Chonnam National University Job Festa (JOB FESTA)" and the "Buk-gu Job Matching Day," two large-scale job fairs aimed at supporting local youth and job seekers. These events were designed to enhance employment opportunities and provide valuable resources for individuals seeking jobs in a competitive market.

The job fairs featured participation from a wide array of employers, including public enterprises, major corporations, and leading local companies. They offered a platform for recruitment, providing attendees with essential information on job openings and the recruitment process. This engagement with employers is crucial for job seekers, as it allows them to make direct connections and gain insights into potential career paths.

In addition to general recruitment activities, special support and counseling booths were established to assist vulnerable job seekers. These booths provided tailored services for those in need, ensuring that individuals from marginalized backgrounds received the guidance and resources necessary to navigate the job market effectively.

Recognizing the unique challenges faced by international students, the job fair included dedicated programs specifically designed to support their employment needs. These initiatives offered practical assistance aimed at stabilizing employment and promoting the economic independence of young people in the region, thereby addressing broader social issues related to unemployment and underemployment.

By organizing such events, Chonnam National University demonstrates its commitment to fostering vocational training and employment opportunities within the community. The job matching festival not only equips local residents with the necessary skills and knowledge to succeed in their job search but also promotes a sense of collaboration and support among community members, contributing to the overall economic development of the area.
