3. Chonnam National University and Gwangju Migrant Health Center Strengthen Collaboration
for Immigrant Health and Policy Development

4. Chonnam National University and Korea Green Energy Institute Forge Partnership
for Local Green Industry Growth
Chonnam Green Environment Support Center, led by Director Hwang Min-jin, a professor at Chonnam National University, signed a memorandum of understanding with the Korea Green Energy Institute on May 20th. The agreement aims to promote local green industry growth through the realization of green New Deal policies.

7. Collaborative Agreements with Socially Vulnerable Groups: Chonnam National University
Takes Steps for the Disabled

Chonnam National University actively promotes the employment of disabled athletes and fosters disabled talent in the Fourth Industrial Revolution sector. On September 16, the university signed a business agreement with the Korea Employment Agency for the Disabled and the Gwangju Disabled Sports Association to promote the employment of disabled athletes. Through this agreement, Chonnam National University will support job creation, ESG management, and corporate promotion through the direct employment of disabled athletes by companies affiliated with its Industry-Academia Collaboration Division. Additionally, on September 15, a business agreement was signed with the Korea Employment Agency for the Disabled, Gwangju Metropolitan City, and the AI Industry-Academia Cooperation Association for the establishment of the 'Gwangju Digital Training Center' to foster disabled talent in the Fourth Industrial Revolution sector. The center aims to provide tailored integrated support services for disabled individuals. 8. Fostering Sustainable Collaboration in the Fisheries Industry

Chonnam National University's College of Fisheries and Ocean Sciences has signed a memorandum of understanding with the Korea Fisheries Association. Through this agreement, both parties have committed to sustainable collaboration, including information exchange in the fisheries industry and support for students' career paths. 9. Carbon Neutrality Partnership Agreement between Chonnam National University and Gwangyang Venture Valley Enterprises

Chonnam National University's Green Environment Support Center has signed a business agreement with the Gwangyang Venture Valley Enterprise Council for mutual growth. 10. Chonnam National University Advances Eco-friendly Pesticide Development

Chonnam National University has been selected in a call for proposals by the Institute of Planning and Evaluation for Technology in Food, Agriculture, Forestry, and Fisheries (iPET) for the 'Research Team for Commercialization of Microbial Pesticides and Biopesticides to Replace Disinfectants.' Through this, the university has entered into an agreement with iPET. As a result, Chonnam National University will invest approximately 169 billion won over the course of five years to develop eco-friendly biopesticides and low-cost, high-efficiency microbial pesticides using domestic materials. Headed by Professor Kim Young-chul, this research team collaborates with the Chonnam National University Institute of Eco-friendly Agriculture, along with various companies and research institutions, to develop future core technologies and promote the domestication of the microbial pesticide and biopesticide market in South Korea.

11. Collaborative Efforts for Local Culture and Education Advancement

Chonnam National University's Department of Korean Language and Literature and the BK21 Education Research Team had previously signed a memorandum of understanding with the Gwangju Cultural Foundation. This agreement aimed to jointly advance local cultural and educational programs, including the exploration and development of regional cultural assets, as well as engagement in community outreach activities. 12. Sustainable Collaboration for Regional Livestock Development

Chonnam National University's College of Veterinary Medicine (Animal Hospital, Dean Seo Guk-hyun) and Jeonnam Livestock Cooperative (Chairman Jeong Hae-jeong) signed a memorandum of understanding on May 13th at the Jeonnam Livestock Cooperative Naju Plant in Sanpo-myeon, Naju City, for "Development of Advanced Livestock Technology and Management Facilitation, and Creative Talent Development through Industry-Academia Collaboration Education."
Through this agreement, Chonnam University's College of Veterinary Medicine (Animal Hospital) will provide dairy farms with the latest technologies for disease prevention and hygiene management of dairy cows through inspection techniques and consulting, utilizing livestock resources from approximately 300 dairy farms in the Gwangju-Jeonnam region to develop and apply advanced livestock technologies, thereby promoting farm management improvement.
Furthermore, it will create opportunities for practical education in veterinary medicine for industrial animals. Livestock inspection techniques and consulting will be implemented from June 1st at Chonnam University's Animal Hospital, contributing to the training of veterinary professionals specializing in industrial animals and generating annual revenue of approximately 100 million won, as well as providing practical training opportunities for local students.

13. Fostering Sustainable Development: Chonnam National University Partners with Gwangju City,
Buk-gu District, and LH Corporation to Establish Campus Innovation Park

Chonnam National University, together with Gwangju City, Buk-gu District, and LH Corporation, has agreed to collaborate in establishing a campus innovation park. This agreement aims to create youth employment opportunities and stimulate the local economy. Under the agreement, Chonnam National University will provide the land, while LH Corporation will invest in the construction of an urban advanced industrial complex. Gwangju City and Buk-gu District will be responsible for permits, financial support, and other related tasks. This project involves utilizing idle university land to create an urban advanced industrial complex equipped with spaces for business startups, entrepreneurship support facilities, residential areas, and cultural amenities. 14. Agreement for Advancement of Eco-friendly Automotive Industry Structure

The LINC+ Development Team at Chonnam National University (headed by Professor Kim Jaekook of the Department of Advanced Materials Engineering) and the Gwangju Green Car Promotion Institute (Director Kim Deokmo) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on July 26th in the G&R Hub Business Meeting Room at Chonnam National University to enhance collaboration in the field of eco-friendly automobile convergence.
Through this agreement, the two institutions have agreed to jointly pursue activities aimed at enhancing industry competitiveness and fostering sustainable development. These activities include activating a mutual cooperation network, conducting joint research and development projects for eco-friendly automotive technologies, supporting education programs related to sustainable transportation, and facilitating the career development and entrepreneurship of talented individuals in this field.

15. Driving Carbon Neutrality: Partnership for Green Industry Growth

In order to realize carbon neutrality policy, the Jeonnam Green Environment Support Center at Jeonnam National University and the Jeollanam-do Environmental Industry Association signed a business agreement to promote green industry research projects in the Jeonnam region and foster environmental companies, aiming for carbon neutrality policy implementation and mutual growth.
Through this agreement, the two organizations will collaborate on: ▲ Promoting low-carbon research projects to achieve carbon neutrality in the Jeonnam region ▲ Supporting the development of environmental companies in Jeonnam and improving the environment for local small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) ▲ Implementing environmental capacity-building programs for companies ▲ Establishing and utilizing a pool of environmental experts in the Jeonnam region.

16. Agreement for Empowerment of Homeless Individuals and Enhancement of Citizen Welfare

The Department of Social Welfare at Chonnam National University (headed by Professor Lee Joo-yeon) and the Gwangju Community Service Center, Gwangju Dasiseogi Integrated Support Center (led by Director Yoon Jong-cheol), signed a memorandum of understanding on September 14th to collaborate on supporting the self-reliance of homeless individuals and enhancing the welfare of citizens.
The two institutions agreed to closely collaborate and exchange expertise in establishing a self-reliance support system for homeless individuals and promoting welfare services, aiming to realize welfare for socially vulnerable groups in the local community and change social perceptions regarding homelessness.

17. Promoting Regional Innovation: Gwangju-Jeonnam's Collaborative Energy Transition Initiative

Chonnam National University's Regional Innovation Platform, Gwangju-Jeonnam Regional Innovation Platform at the time, collaborated with the Korea Institute of Energy Technology Evaluation and Planning on the Living Lab initiative. The aim was to promote local settlement by offering regional experiences to students and fostering a local innovation ecosystem through coordinated projects. Simultaneously, the Energy Efficiency Research Department was actively involved in enhancing energy efficiency. The partnership centered on jointly executing the "Gwangju-Jeonnam Energy Transition Village Living Lab" project over the following two years, led by Professor Bae Jeong-hwan of Chonnam National University's Regional Development Research Institute. 18. Pioneering Technology Transfer in Pandemic Response

Chonnam National University has decided to transfer seven patents, including a coronavirus neutralizing agent.
the university's Industry-Academia Collaboration Division and the Korea Basic Science Institute entered an agreement to transfer seven technologies to Bio3S Co., Ltd.
The 'coronavirus neutralizing agent' technology, utilizing domestically produced black soybeans, shows strong potential with various applications.
Bio3S Co., Ltd. has developed a gel containing black soybean extract, achieving high sensitivity and specificity for rapid antigen testing and RT-PCR testing for symptomatic COVID-19 patients.
