Guideline for International Staff
1. Basic Information of 2013 Girl Scout International Camp, Korea
■ Objective
2013 Girl Scout International Camp, Korea has the aim of providing Girl Scouts/Guides and
Scouts with opportunities:
- to radiate their youthfulness by participating in a variety of activities which meet their needs
- to foster an appreciation for nature and responsibility for nature conservation through
camping in nature
- to enhance world citizenship by interacting with participants who have diverse backgrounds,
sharing international friendship and caring each other through camping life

July 28(Sun.) - August 3(Sat.), 2013 (7 days and 6 nights)
■ Venue
Gosan Recreation Forest, Wanju-gun, Jeollabuk-do, Korea
■ Theme
We, Lead the Change!
■ Camp Emblem
The emblem represents the joyful camping activity at recreation
forest through active figure of leaf which symbolizes nature and
diversity through various color of the emblem
■ Expected Participants
7,000 Girl Guides/Girl Scouts and non-member youths
- 6,250 Korean Guides/Girl Scouts, Scouts(age 11~18) and Troop Leaders including non-
member youths
- 250 overseas guests from Member Organizations of WAGGGS
- 500 staff members

2. Invitation as International Staff of 2013 Girl Scout International Camp, Korea
■ Who (Qualification) : Foreigner
- who stay in Korea for a short /long term
- who can speak English well(Good Korean skill will be helpful)
- who can participate in “the Pre-meeting for International Staff”(It will be notified later)
- who can prepare and introduce her/his country’s traditional song, game, dance or chant
and so on to children(age 11~18) in the International Booth
- who can stay in the camp site during whole camp period(July 28 - August 3)
※International Staff is belong to “International Affairs Section(IAS, 국제본부)”
■ When (Activity Time)
July 28(Sun.) - August 3(Sat.) (7 days and 6 nights)
※International Booth Activity Time : July 29(Mon.) - 30(Tue.), August 1(Thu.) - 2(Fri.) (4 days)
■ Where (Activity Site)
Gosan Recreation Forest camp site, Korea
■ What (Duty)
. International Booth Activity
- to introduce and teach one’s country and its culture (e.g. nation’s traditional/popular songs,
chant, dance, games, simple national language and so on)
- to exhibit national/traditional costumes and objects
. Foreign Participants Support Activity
- to guide and support foreign participants’ camp activity
■ Benefit in kind
- Volunteer Activity Certificate
- Meals and Sleeping Accommodations (tent)
※ Cooked Korean meals will be served
- Small Pocket Money
- Free Transportation (Seoul ↔ Gosan Recreation Forest)
- Free Participation Fee
. The camp fee is supported by Girl Scouts, but International staffs need to pay Deposit
Money (50,000 won) by May 31, 2013. It will be returned after International Staff Duty is
done.

■ Participation Procedure
- Submit ①Application Form ②Self Introduction & Booth Activity Plan ③Consent to
Processing of Personal Information by May 31, 2013 through Fax or E-mail
- Send Deposit Money (50,000 won) by May 31, 2013.
- Attend “the Pre-meeting for International Staff” on June 28, 2013
※ The Pre-meeting schedule can be changed.
■ Selection Procedure
- The maximum number is 2 people per each country.
- There will be a screening, and interview.
