Gwangju-Jeonnam consortium for the Leading Regional University Fostering Project (Director: Professor Cho Sung-yong) ranked first among 12 consortiums in the annual assessment and will receive 1.56 billion KRW for the second year. CNU established the consortium with Sunchon National University, Mokpo National University, Honam University, and Dongshin University.

The Gwangju-Jeonnam regional consortium was recognized for cooperation and systematic performance management between CNU as the host university and participating universities. According to the assessment results, the consortium also contributed significantly to strengthening local students' capacity for employment and increasing employment opportunities by providing a foundation for the talent development and promoting cooperative systems between participating entities.

In the second-round project, the regional consortium will cooperate with Chosun University and Gwangju University to further facilitate and increase the efficiency of the project by establishing an online management system against COVID-19.
