The two institutions will establish an organic cooperation system for building an unmanned aerospace research center, developing and researching new technology in the field, industrialization of developed technology and employing professional researchers. Especially, the two agreed to constitute a consortium for the unmanned aerospace industry among experts from industry, academia, research and government with the aim at effective organization of the project and mutual discussion of detailed tasks. In the meantime, the CNU Center for Robot Research had a plate-hanging ceremony for the unmanned aerospace research center. The center will be built nearby the Narodo Space Center in Goheung County by 2015 at a cost of 30 billion Korean won. It will be equipped with R&D space for robots, a facility of aerospace simulation, a test bed for simulative aerospace and others. It will focus on research on original technology for robots that will serve to work in the aerospace field or discover other planets. Jeollanam-do aims to create a high-value-added industry through this project.
