CNU Carrying Out a Charity Movement for Poor Families and Tsunami Victims

Donations Hit 28 Million Won CNU carried out a charity drive to help poor families and Tsunami victims. CNU collected the donations from faculty members and staff members earlier this year. The donations hit 14,180,760 won and the University officials visited five different facilities to give the charity gift. Over 100 individuals participated in the volunteering services in Moodeung children’s center, Vedesda Nursing Home, Nunnery, Gwangju Inhwa Center, and Haengbok (happines) Nursing Home, etc. CNU conducts this kind of charity drive every year and delivers the collected donations to the poor families and the victims. In March, the University carried out another charity drive for Tsunami victims and a total of 14,840,000 won had been gathered from CNU members. The donations were delivered to Korean National Red Cross for Tsunami relief funds. CNU has a special course named “University and Public Services,” designed to lead charity drives. There are about 40 students’ clubs and other groups of faculty and staff members. CNU is planning to organize a task force team to map out a general plan for the handicapped students.
