Since May, professors and alumni in the College of Medicine have made donations to provide scholarships to one percent of incoming students in 2010. Those students will be selected as President Honor Students (PHS) and educated to be one of several brands that shall represent the university.

40 graduates and professors and two groups have participated in the campaign, which aims to collect one million won from each individual. 43 million won has been gathered since the beginning of the program. In particular, Park Chang-soo, Dean of the College and Professor Song Eun-kyu and Professor Park Jong-chun, of the 26th alumni of the school met President Kim Yoon-Soo and expressed good wishes from donators with 11 million won on October 23rd. Previously, on October 1st, the college donated some 1.3 million won, which was collected through its Myeonghak Festival.

The Dean stated that 'We started those relayed donations hoping to be a little help to strengthen the competitiveness of CNU through a distinguished education program. I hope there will be more donators who can share our wish together, to grow the university as a whole, rather than solely thinking about own department.'
PHS aims to educate 40 students in the Department of Inter-disciplinary Studies with a huge potential through programs that will help them learn critical thinking, good communication skills, inter-disciplinary problem-solving ability and create new social values through collaboration.
