Prof. Park Yeon-soo (Major of Civil Engineering, Department of Civil, Geosystem & Environmental Engineering) has won the Best Treatise Award of the Korean Society of Steel Construction (KSSC). He was awarded at the 2004 general meeting of the Society.
Park’s research article entitled “A Study on the Damage of Concrete Filled Steel Tubular Column Under Repeated Increasing Load” has been recognized to make contributions to the development of the research field. The Best Treatise Award of the Korean Society of Steel Construction has been awarded to selected treatises among the nominated research articles by research associations or societies in nation. The award is given for the “Most Significant Contribution by Published Papers to the Field of Interest of the Steel Construction Society.”
Prof. Park has focused on the research area of dynamic structural engineering for the last ten years while he has conducted wide range of research activities in the civil engineering field. He has published eight treaties on the KSSC’s journal, which aims to provide an international forum for a broad blend of technical papers in steel structural research and its applications. The journal is aimed not only at researchers but also at practicing engineers who are most likely benefited by research results. The journal encourages contributions from Asian and Pacific-rim countries. The scope of the International Journal of Steel Structures encompasses, but is not limited to, the following areas: stability, fatigue, nonlinear behavior, dynamics, reliability, design codes, computer-aided analysis and design, optimization, expert systems, connections, fabrication, maintenance, bridges, offshore structures, jetties, stadiums, transmission towers, marine vessels, storage tanks, pressure vessels, aerospace, and pipelines.
