CNU (President Chung Seok-jong) observes its 52nd birthday on June 9, 2004. The University held a celebrating ceremony at Yonbong Hall of the International Conference Bldg. at 11 a.m., Tuesday, June 8. At the ceremony, Prof. Youn Ga-hyun (Dept. of Psychology, College of Social Sciences), Prof. Nam Gye-chun (Dept. of Chemistry, College of Natural Sciences), and Prof. Chung Myong-ho (Dept. of Cardiovascular Medicine, College of Medicine) received the 8th Yongbong Academic Awards. Yongbong Honor Awards were presented to Kim Yang-kyun, former Justice of the Constitutional Court, and Lee Gyong-soo, President of Daebul University. President Chung presented long-term service awards to 79 staff members (25 individuals of 10-year-long service, 49 members of 20-year-long service, and 5 members of 30-year-long service). After the ceremony, volleyball games were held at the university gymnasium at 1 p.m. Among eighteen teams, the Veterinary College team and the Engineering College team won the first place of the two separate groups.
