To better serve students, CNU unveiled its new Career Center which will centralize current employment service programs. CNU decided to launch a new center aside from the Employment Information Center, located on the 1st floor of the University Administration building, in order to help students to be career-focused no matter what stage of career development they are in. The Center will be a one-stop center offering comprehensive career education, experiential education and job search support services to students. A full-time career specialist will work at the Center to help students. The Center will provide students with a comprehensive one-stop approach to all of their career development needs. A variety of services are available including modules on career exploration, occupational and labor market information, portfolio development, resume writing, interviewing skills, employment opportunities, cooperative education internship leads and more. The Career Center
s Resource Room is home to full-time and part-time job listings, employment postings, as well as a wide array of reference materials. In addition, students may use Career Center guest computers to conduct on-line job searches or to work on their resumes. The Center also has a counseling room and interview room. Under the expert guidance, students will learn to build winning resumes that will help to obtain internships, full-time, and career-level positions. Students can also receive training in writing cover letters, follow-up correspondence and selecting references. The Center will prepare students for success in the interview process.
