CNU has organized the '2019 International Cultural Day,' which introduces countries of international students at CNU. It celebrated 'Uzbekistan Day' on April 18 with various events.

According to the CNU Global Education Center (Director: Professor Kim Sang-gu), it conducted a variety of programs to help participants understand the Uzbek culture better. For instance, traditional dance performances by Uzbek students, taking pictures wearing Uzbek traditional costumes, and competing in quiz contests on Uzbek culture held by the student ambassadors attracted great popularity. The winner of the quiz contest was awarded a T-shirt.

Umarkulov Asadbek, CNU freshman from Uzbekistan said, "I am very happy to have opportunities to introduce Uzbek traditional culture, such as my country's dances and costumes, to friends from other countries such as Korea.”

The International Culture Day was designed by the Global Education Center to strengthen the global competence of CNU members through a broader understanding of the international cultures, thereby laying the foundation for elevating its status as a university of global prestige.

Professor Kim, the Director of the Global Education Center, said, “The number of international students, faculty, staff and researchers has significantly increased in CNU. We need to encourage all of them to have opportunities of interactive communication through culture on this campus where we not only feel proud of our own backgrounds, but can also strengthen their sense of belonging as members of CNU.”

Kicked off by Uzbekistan Day on May, ‘International Culture Days’ for 14 countries will continue as follows: Finland and Vietnam in May, America and India in June, Sri Lanka and Africa in September, Mongolia and Kazakhstan in October, Pakistan and Bangladesh in November and Japan, China, and Ukraine in December.
