A team of CNU undergraduates (Leader: Seo Dae-won, a sophomore of the CNU School of Chemical Engineering) won the first prize in a start-up idea competition held in Silicon Valley.
According to CNU, the CNU team (second right of the picture) was participating in a two-week seminar for global technology-based start-ups from January 14 to 25 at San Jose State University, USA. During the training session, the students entered in the start-up idea competition with "Diagnose Yourself" and won the grand prize.
The 'Diagnose Yourself' is an application that provides useful information for skin problems such as acne. The application gives advice on possible solutions for skin trouble and provides a skin care guide as the users upload their photos through smartphone cameras.
This years’ start-up training program in Silicon Valley was conducted by Chonbuk National University in order to develop a global technology entrepreneurial education model and train future entrepreneurs on the global stage. 20 participants from five domestic universities including CNU, Kongju National University, Mokpo National University, Yeungnam University, and Chonbuk National University took part in the program, visiting representative companies in Silicon Valley, such as Google, Oracle, and Intel. CNU students were led by the CNU Innovation Center for Engineering Education (Director: Professor Go Seong-seok, School of Architecture).
