National University Model UN Conference Closes after Adopting Resolutions on Climate Change

The model United Nations conference held at CNU concluded its three-day schedule with the adoption of resolutions on climate change and international peace and security. 

At the 28th National University Model UN Conference, which concluded on July 7, over 200 university students from across the country gathered to from the Second General Assembly (plenary) and adopted resolutions on ▲ climate change and international peace and security, ▲ international efforts to combat piracy, and ▲UN’s role in improving human right condition in North Korea.
 
In this competition, CNU students Jeong Da-ye and Lee In-hyang (Department of Political Science and International Relations, advisor professor: Choi Young-mi) participated as an Italian delegation with the theme of “International Community’s Efforts to Combat Piracy” and won the grand prize.
 

At the closing ceremony, a special lecture on “Ukraine War and International Peace and Security” was delivered by former UN representative Oh Jun, followed by closing remarks from Kwak Young-hoon, President of the UN Association of Korea, and a farewell address by Cho Sung-hee, President of the CNU Alumni Association.

Lee Myeong-kyu, Dean of Academic Affairs at CNU, promised in his greeting message, “CNU will not sit idly by on the various problems faced by the international community. Rather than that, we will work together in various ways and means, including education and research, to jointly respond to problem-solving. I hope that today’s precious relationship can continue.”
