A CNU consortium was selected as the Innovative University for Cultivating Digital Technology Talents in the field of artificial intelligence.

The CNU consortium was selected as the Innovative University for Cultivating Digital Technology Talents (hereinafter referred to as the Digital Innovation University) project in the field of artificial intelligence announced on May 3 by the Ministry of Education and the Korea Research Foundation.

The CNU consortium will receive 10.2 billion KRW in support for 6 years until 2026, along with participating universities in medicine (CNU), public administration (Seoul City University), education, economics, and business administration (Sungkyunkwan University), agriculture (Jeonju University), and smart city development (Seoul National University of Science and Technology). Universities participating in the program will develop and enhance educational accessibility through the establishment of a video discussion system.

In addition, educational materials developed for each field will be shared and utilized by the entire universities performing the project and will be disclosed to the general public, as well as to universities that do not participate in the project.

The digital innovation-sharing university project, called the Korean New Deal, is a cooperative system that jointly utilizes educational resources in digital technology fields scattered across several universities, and fosters national-level core talents by the participation of industries, research institutions, academic institutions, and private institutions. Participating universities are as follows: ▲ Artificial Intelligence (CNU) ▲ Big Data (Seoul National University) ▲ Next-Generation Semiconductors (Seoul National University) ▲ Future Automobiles (Kookmin University) ▲ Bio Health (Dankook University) ▲ Realistic Media (Konkuk University) ▲ Intelligent Robots (Hanyang University) (ERICA), and ▲ the new energy industry.

President Jung said, “We will lead the cultivation of manpower in the field of artificial intelligence in Korea by consolidating the capabilities of not only participating universities but also industries and research fields,” and said, “It will be an opportunity for CNU to be reborn as a mecca of artificial intelligence talent education.”
