CNU Museum Invites Students and Citizens to its Culture Program

The CNU Museum invites students and citizens to its culture program to be given in the first semester of the 2004 academic year. The program is divided into two courses: specialized course and intensive course. The specialized course, entitled \"A practical use of cultures for the regional innovation\", will be led by the Implementation Agency for Culture & Arts Specialization Project and the University Museum. Gwangju Office of Education will designate the museum
s specialized course as the 2004 training program of the office. The program will be given from March 24 through June 30 for twelve weeks, every Wednesday from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. The lecture schedules are listed below. ▲Prof. Sung Jin-ki, Dept. of Philosophy - \"Why culture?\" ▲Prof. Jung Woo-yang, Dept. of Forest Resources and Landscape Architecture - \"Traditional music and traditional music instruments\" ▲Prof. Chun Deuk-yeum, Dept. of Architecture - \"Resources of traditional architecture and a plan to utilize them\" ▲Kim Jong-heon, Instructor of the Dept. of Philosophy - \"The identity of Gwangju and culture reproduction\" ▲Kim Gyong-joo, Representative of Gwangju Painting & Arts Federation - \"Direction of cultural hub city\" ▲Prof. Kim Jang-seok, Dept. of Anthropology - \"The use of pre-historic cultures in Honam\" ▲Prof. Ryu Jae-han, Dept. of French Lang. & Lit. - \"European cultures and Asian cultures\" ▲Prof. Lee Chil-woo, Dept. of Electronics Computer & Information Engineering - \"Culture and information technology\" ▲Prof. Huh Min, Dept. of Earth Systems & Environmental Sciences - \"Marine resources and ecological culture of Jeonnam\" ▲Kim Young-ju, President of Gwangju Information Culture Industry Promotion Agency - \"Current situation of cultural industry in Gwangju and Jeonnam\" ▲Prof. Park Gu-yong, Dept. of Philosophy - \"Gwangju democratization and human rights\" ▲Prof. Na Gyong-soo, Dept. of Korean Education - \"A symbol and image of Honam culture and arts\" The intensive course will be given under the theme of \"Culture and History of Northeast Asia.\" Each class of the course will be delivered every Wednesday from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. The following is the schedule of the entire session. ▲Prof. Im Young-jin, Dept. of Anthropology - \"Ancient cultures of China in the prehistoric age\", \"Ancient cultures of Japan in the prehistoric age\", \"Cultural exchanges among Korea, China, and Japan in the prehistoric age\" ▲Prof. Kim Yong-eui, Dept. of Japanese Lang. & Lit. - \"Japanese traditional culture\", \"Japanese pop culture\", \"Japanese folk culture\" ▲Prof. Lee Don-joo, Emeritus Professor - \"Chinese culture I, II, III included in the Thousand Chinese characters\" ▲Prof. Yang Hoi-seok, Dept. of Chinese Lang. & Lit. - \"Looking for a in-depth structure of Chinese traditional culture\", \"Looking for an ideal type of Chinese people\", \"Traditional cultures of the three countries in Asia and the comparison of their awareness\" Tuition for the entire session is 50,000 won. Tuition for students and seniors is 40,000 won. The field trips to historical sites will be prepared three times in the semester on March 28, April 24-25, and May 22.
