CNU recruits undergraduate students and graduate students who want to study at Kyungpook National University (KNU) and the University of Ulsan (UU) as exchange students for the first (March-July) semester of the 2004 academic year. Sixty students will be selected for the exchange program at KNU and nine students will be selected for the program at the University of Ulsan. The application deadline is December 8 and the completed applications should be submitted to the administrative office at each college. CNU
s student exchange program with KNU, starting in 1999, is regarded as an exemplary case of the exchange programs among domestic universities. About two hundred students were sent to KNU and UU every semester when the program started, but now sixty students are selected for the program. The exchange program between CNU and KNU is highly estimated since it contributes to encouraging students to study harder at leading universities both in Youngnam and Honam region. Students at each university understand the purpose of the program well and the reluctant feeling against the counterpart area has been diminished through the exchange program. This project can be an alternative solution to achieving harmony between Youngnam and Honam areas. The benefit of exemption of entire tuition fee would also gain good response. Students are responsible for their dormitory charges. The exchange program at KNU is open to undergraduate and graduate students in all majors. Applicants should be currently enrolled students with good academic standings (a GPA of 3.0 or higher, and/or a GPA of 2.35 or higher for the first semester this year). Graduate students should have a GPA of 3.5 or higher. The exchange program with the University of Ulsan is open to the students of the College of Engineering. The selected students will receive the benefit of exemption of entire tuition fee and dormitory charge as well. Applicants should have a GPA of 3.0 or higher and/or a GPA of 2.35 or higher for the first semester of this year.
