The successful candidates of the 47th administrative civil service examination and the 9th local administrative civil service examination were recently announced. Five CNU students including two current students were in the list. CNU has been maintaining high rankings in terms of the state law exam passers, with it being ranked the 9th. Till 1999, CNU had produced seven or eight candidates every year, who were successful in the administrative civil service examinations. From the year 2000, students crowded to the state law examinations and CNU has not produced good results at the administrative civil service examinations. In 2001, the number of the successful candidates in the civil service examinations was three. Four students passed the exam in 2002 and the number increased to five this year. Most of the successful candidates studied at the CNU Gosiwon, the students
study hall. The results proved once again that CNU Gosiwon is a fostering ground of state examination passers in Honam region. Prof. Kim Jung-wan of the College of Law, taking charge of the CNU Gosiwon as an adviser, attributed the success to the efforts of law professors and students who set out to work in earnest for the state examinations. Prof. Kim said, \"We set up an annual plan for the student guidance of the state-run examinations at the beginning of the year. With the support of the university administration, we are trying to give Gosiwon students more information by hosting invitational lectures of renowned instructors and showing video tapes picturing the lectures of private academies. We found that the classified total of the successful candidates in the first round of several state-run examinations for the past two years reached over 110 students.
