The 6th ECOGAS 2003, the National Competition of Low Fuel Consumption Automobiles, was held around the Engineering buildings between Oct. 11 and 12. The competition, hosted by CNU and sponsored by BK21 Local University Cultivating Project Team and the Faculty of Automobile Engineering, is a nationwide event. This Competition tests which automobile will go furthest with a provided amount of fuel and encourages students to produce automobiles using low-fuel-consumption technology in order to cope with future energy limitations. Unassigned Engine Competition
with the record of 391.02km/ℓ. MAXI9MUMШ from Provincial College of Damyang won the design award and Soyoojin from Kumoh National Institute of Technology received the dream award. The team Phoenix I from Chonghak Technical High School won the award of challenge. No teams could not beat the best record of ECONO-BEST team from Yeojoo Institute of Technology (439.1km/ℓ), which was set up at the 3rd contest. Forty teams including one citizen team and four high school student teams participated in the contest, which can stand in comparison with any other nation-wide competitions.
