College of Natural Sciences, Korea Rural Community & Agriculture Corporation Signed a Pact for Academia-Governmental Institution Collaboration

The College of Natural Sciences (Dean Choi Yong-kook) has established a cooperative pact with Gwangju Office of the Korea Rural Community & Agriculture Corporation (Director Lee Jong-won). They agreed to collaborate for the promotion of joint research projects and academic exchange activities. The two institutions have shared the recognition the collaboration is necessary for strengthening the competitiveness of environmental & agricultural technologies. The agreement signed by the two institutions contains the facility exchange, education program operation, research project collaboration, and manpower exchanges, etc. CNU
s School of Geosystem and Environmental Engineering and the geological environment research team of the Korea Rural Community & Agriculture Corporation have agreed to develop educational programs on geological environment, ground water, and soil technology. Through the exchange activities, the two institutions expect the joint research projects can be promoted and the expertise in meteorological technology can be obtained. Besides, there will be more benefits for the two institutions based on the collaborative pact. According to the government
s policy to relocate public organizations, the main office of the Korea Rural Community & Agriculture Corporation will move to Naju city. Based on the collaboration agreement, the two institutions will work together for the promotion of the second round of Brain Korea 21 (BK21), being led by the School of Civil, Geosystem and Environmental Engineering.
